We have entered into the season of Advent. This is a special season of the year marked in the church by a posture of waiting and anticipating, of seeking and welcoming, of longing and finally receiving. Advent is a time to draw near to God and each other in order that we may experience God drawing near to us.

This Advent, we as a community at Wellspring Englewood will be gathering together for a Night of Prayer and Worship for the purpose of seeking after God and allowing Him the opportunity to show himself to us. I spoke with Jonathan Wei, who is part of the team providing direction to the evening, about the vision for this time of corporate worship:

“This prayer night was birthed out of a desire to encounter God in a new way. I know there are people at Wellspring who are feeling this tug, desire, fire for something more. They may not be able to pin-point it but there's this hunger for something unknown. I believe that hunger is for a new or renewed intimacy with the Father. A deep revival of their Spirit and Soul. There are also people who may feel stuck and need encouragement, empowerment, freedom from something and those people should definitely come and be set free from whatever chains they may have. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is Freedom. There will also be people who are experiencing physical ailments and they need to come because I know the Lord will show up as healer.”

Will you join your Wellspring family on Thursday, December 10th from 7:00 – 8:30pm to invite the life-giving presence of our God into our lives and community this Advent season? All are welcome. Childcare will be provided. Come, and draw near.
