Its members are drawn together by an interest in reaching out to internationals. Led by Carla Arensen, the group of ten desires to learn about welcoming the stranger and being a gracious host culture. Still open to new members, the group is exploring ways to work cross-culturally in Denver. Members are considering volunteering with immigrants and refugees and discussing other ways to form friendships with people from other countries.
Focus Groups at Wellspring Littleton are being formed from the ground up. Wellspring Littleton staff and Lanny Arensen, who is facilitating Focus Groups, want to be behind the passions that God has given Littleton members. Lanny explains that Focus Groups are aimed at attracting the non-churched to Jesus while providing a closely-knit community for participants to grow in their own walks with God. So far, groups include Crossing Cultures as well as two groups that are committed to reaching their neighbors. More are still forming, including one that will target non-believing family members. Anyone with an interest in participating or starting a new group can contact Lanny at Carlalanny@gmail.com.
The Art of Neighboring by David Runyon has inspired both the groups on neighboring. Bob and Kim Feehs’ group will begin with a study of the book and augment it with a neighboring curriculum by Joe Anderson. Comprised of about eight initial members, this group wants to learn to love God together in formation and have love for neighbors spring from that. Bob warns that if we lose this order, neighboring will become a chore. He hopes the group will keep growing until it needs to grow into two groups. Meetings are held one Tuesday evening a month with an additional Sunday night dinner and rotate between members’ homes. Interested parties can contact firstname.lastname@example.org; Families are invited and the next gathering will be dinner on Sunday, March 6th.
Another neighboring group, led by Dave and Lynne Morrow, also welcomes families and is open to meeting on the weekends in order to facilitate busy schedules. Committed to matching the needs of families, this group will meet once or twice per month. Contact the Morrows at email@example.com for more information.
As we at Wellspring Littleton grow in worship and formation, we have formed groups centered on mission as we eagerly desire to share the joy found in the gospel and our community with those both near and far, neighbor and foreigner. Join us in furthering the Kingdom in Littleton through Focus Groups.
