Symbols

Symbols hold a special place in our worship services. For example, the cross is brought to the center of the sanctuary before the Gospel reading to signify the presence of Christ in our midst. A candle is placed on either side of the altar representing Jesus’ divine and human natures, and a seamless linen cloth covers the altar recalling the garment worn by Christ on the day of his crucifixion.
